Travel Tryouts
LSC TRAVEL SOCCER TRYOUT INFORMATION - MAY / JUNE 2013:
ALL PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND TWO TRYOUTS
Requirements for all players attending tryouts:
- SOCCER BALL: Size 4 for all players trying out for U9 (3rd grade) through U12 (6th grade) or Size 5 for U13 (7th grade) through U15 (9th grade). - CLEATS & SHIN GUARDS
- WATER
TRYOUTS WILL RUN THE FULL 90 MINUTES. PARENTS ARE WELCOME TO STAY BUT PLEASE DO NOT INTERRUPT THE TRYOUT SESSIONS AND PLEASE DO NOT GO ONTO THE FIELD OR NEAR THE PLAYER AREA.
IN THE EVENT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER- WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO INFORM YOU VIA EMAIL OF ANY WEATHER RELATED DELAYS OR CANCELLATIONS BY 3:00 PM THE DAY OF THE TRYOUT. WE WILL ALSO POST IT ON THE LSC WEBSITE. IF THERE IS LIGHT RAIN, TRYOUTS WILL GO ON AS SCHEDULED. All participants will be required to attend two (2) tryouts which provides all children 2 great opportunities to impress us with their soccer skills and acumen. Each grade level will have two (2) tryout dates held over a two week period beginning the Tuesday after Memorial Day. In an attempt to schedule around school events and functions, a 3rd date has been set aside for those who missed one of the first two tryouts. If, for any reason, a conflict arises, which will preclude you from attending 2 of the tryout sessions, we will make every effort to accommodate your child with another age group. All tryouts will be run by our Professional Training Partners.
All tryouts should be completed by June 13th, weather permitting. REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS: The following documents. or acknowledgments are required at the try-out session. 1. For New Travel Players, a Copy of Birth Certificate or Copy of Passport. Please NO Originals. We need to keep these documents for our files. 2. Medical Consent Acknowledgment: As you register on-line, each family must agree to select the "Medical Consent Box" when registering their child. Due to insurance requirements, no child may participate in a tryout session without agreeing to select the "Medical Consent Form" box while registering via the Sports Signup System. THE TRY-OUT PROCESS: We understand the anxiety associated with try-outs. Please be aware that although we require an evaluation of every player, try-outs are only one component of the team selection process. We do have information on most children from past seasons of both Travel and In-Town, which we attempt to incorporate, in order to make informed decisions. In many cases, this includes mid-season/yr.-end evaluations from trainers for current travel players, participation in LSC clinics that were held over the winter and also during the current in-town season. TRYOUT SCHEDULE: Listed below are the dates and times for tryouts. Please be aware that these may change, especially if weather becomes an issue. Grades listed are for the 2013-2014 academic school year. All tryouts will be held at Meadow Pond Elementary School. Please remember to wear your cleats and shinguards. Also, bring plenty of water. Make-Up Dates: All players are required to attend two (2) tryouts. If a player cannot attend one of the above dates for their appropriate division (grade), the following dates are being set aside. June 11th: 4:30-6:00pm, for the following groups: Girls U9 (3rd grade) Girls U10 (4th grade) Boys U10 (4th grade) Boys U14 (8th grade) Boys U15 (9th grade)
June 12th: 4:30-6:00pm, for the following groups: Girls U11 (5th grade) Girls U12 (6th grade) Boys U11 (5th grade) Boys U12 (6th grade) Boys U9 (3rd grade)
June 13th: 4:30-6:00pm, for the following groups: Girls U13 (7th grade) Girls U15 (9th grade) Girls U14 (8th grade) Boys U13 (7th grade)
